Former deputy president Rigathi Gachagua has called on the government and the security agents to allow him to enjoy his life in privacy after he was ousted out of office last month.

Gachagua now claim unknown people in unmarked cars have been trailing him to wherever he goes with some cars spotted to his home in Nairobi and Nyeri.

For this reason he said he decided to a search the car’s number plate on the National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) only to discover that its belongs to a lorry. Gachagua claims the car trailed  him to Presbyterian Church of East Africa (PCEA), Kerarapon.

“Last Sunday, a saloon car that was parked at the entrance to my residence trailed me to PCEA Kerarapon Church, followed me to where I went for a late lunch and back to the house. This surveillance and intimidation of Kenyans was last witnessed during the era of the dreaded ‘Special Branch’ during the 24 years of Moi’s misrule!”he posted.

He added, “In this era of extrajudicial killings, forced abductions and disappearances by state agents, I have thought it important to share with Kenyans the harassment and intimidation I am going through, and inform them to hold the state responsible if I am harmed by state agents,”

He further urged the government that hounded him out of the office to leave him alone and allow him to enjoy his peace as a private citizen following impeachment.

But digital strategist Denis Itumbi has fired back at the former deputy President Gacahgua for being a sympathy seeker by accusing the government of removing him from the office yet he is the cause of all his problems.

“Why are you worried and looking guilty, your sentiments against the state are nothing but falsehood, well-constructed to seek sympathy and soil others. Or it may be because of the crimes you committed that we do not know and you fear being exposed through investigations.” he wrote.
