It has now emerged that Fred Omondi died along Outering Road in Nairobi after being involved in a tragic road accident on Saturday morning.
Fred Omondi is the younger brother of comedian Eric Omondi. Fred was also a comedian who featured several times on the Churchill Show.
According to a police statement Fred was on a motorbike which was involved in an accident around 6am in the morning near Caltex petrol station along Kangundo road.
The bus that knocked off the motorbike belongs to Forward Travellers Sacco and was from Kayole direction headed to the city centre but on the wrong side.
It is reported the vehicle and the boda-boda collided head on. “As a result, the pillion passenger namely Fredrick Omondi died on the spot,” police statement said.
Meanwhile, the boda-boda rider suffered serious multiple injuries on both right legs and fractures on his hands.
“The rider was rushed to Mama Lucy Kibaki hospital for treatment while the deceased is lying at the hospital’s mortuary,” police added.
