Before September 2013, Constable Dan Shisia Matakaya was handsome and ever jovial man.
But things changed for good one morning when he arrived home from night shift,unknown to him that his wife was armed with bottle of corrosive acid ready to splash on his face.
“I had just fallen asleep, when I was woken by an excruciating pain on my face. I stumbled out of bed, but I was disoriented and I couldn’t see anything, he said.
He added “she had also disconnected electricity cables and let laid them on the flow to shock me so that I cannot escape”
To his luck, neighbours, heard him screaming for help then rushed him to hospital, that time the 23 year old wife had managed to flee for safety.
In hospital, the officer, was met with the grim realization that other than suffering severe burns, which badly deformed his face, he had also lost his eyesight.
Dan’s wife was later arrested and arraigned in court over the matter but the officer has since forgiven her.
But “All she keep saying is that she doesn’t know why she did it. I forgave her though”
