A businessman in Nairobi has been arrested in Nairobi in connection with death of his girlfriend who was reported missing for several days.
The deceased, Latifa Akumu was reported missing on October 30, 2026 and her body was discovered stashed in Nigerian bags along river Nithi in Meru county on November 4.
And now her boyfriend Dan, who was allegedly with him last has been arrested to assist investigators.
A postmortem conducted on Akumu’s body established that she died due to severe injuries on her body, suffered multiple injuries including skull injuries in what was linked to brutal attack.
Akumu’s family claim that before she disappeared she had told some relatives that she was going to visit the boyfriend.
“It pains me to see my daughter was killed in such a manner, her body had stab wounds around the neck and it appears that she was struggling, she was stashed in three Nigerian bags,” the father shared
“From what we are gathering, she was killed in Highrise and her body ferried all the way to Meru, that show that kind of cruelty cannot be done by one person, someone must have assisted the suspect to carry the body from his house,” he added
