One year since former Prime Minister Raila Odinga passed on some of his followers are yet to come to terms with his death.
Raila, the Orange Democratic Movement leader died after a short illness leaving the whole country in shock.
In an unexpected twist, Raila had allegedly left a note that he should be buried within 72 hours after his demise.
The chaos that would follow will remain in the memories of many of his followers for years to come.
At the time of his treatment, Raila was accompanied by his long-time bodyguard Maurice Ogeta who was captured shedding tears uncontrollably upon learning that his boss was no more.
One year after Raila’s death the bodyguard, Ogeta has opened up about his last moments with his boss; his revelation has left more questions than answers among Kenyans.
In the first interviews with local televisions Ogeta has revealed that the last video where Raila was seen walking in white robes was not taken in India as was alleged but in Dubai.
“The clip that was trending online of me walking behind Baba, Raila Amollo Odinga, while he was in a gown is an old video of us in Dubai after his first surgery, not in India,” he revealed
Ogeta also shared the last moments before he learnt that Raila was gone citing that the former Prime Minister’s doctor was not telling him the truth.
“Before receiving the news that Baba was gone, prayer items and candles were already being prepared,” Ogeta recalled
Continuing, “I asked Dr Olunya what was happening, and he reassured me that it was a mission hospital where they pray for patients as they treat them. However, I was getting different signs that all was not well,”
And in a more personal confession, Ogeta claims that sometimes back during demonstrations in Kenya, he lost Sh14 million in a car.
“I lost Sh14.7 million when I was abducted; it was in the car, and they took it. It took me 10 years back because those were my savings,” he shared
Adding, “My boss Raila Odinga cancelled his London trip after hearing I was abducted,”
Ogeta’s interview one year after Raila’s death has however left Kenyans in shock with others raising questions on where Raila was treated before he passed on.
“Interview was so painful that it could not be concluded! With time the truth shall be revealed!! Kapasua mbarika,” Harry Andere responded
“So if we give him another year to live then next year October he will tell us whether they went to India or not,” Another Kenyan Hann Owino wrote
