Mudavadi in Doha for Development Summit

The Summit follows the first such 30 years ago, which was held in Copenhagen, Denmark, in 1995

Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi,has arrived in Doha, Qatar to attend the Second World Summit for Social Development Summit 2025 between November 4th to 6th, 2025.

The Summit will take stock of the achievements made towards the common goals of eradicating poverty, ensuring inclusive economic growth, addressing inequality, and strengthening global cooperation, among others.

The Summit follows the first such 30 years ago, which was held in Copenhagen, Denmark, in 1995, where 10 Commitments were agreed upon by Heads of State, and government.

These have come to be known as the Copenhagen Commitments on Social Development.

Kenya was negotiating to protect certain priorities including, the keeping of Copenhagen Declaration, reaffirming the right for development between the developed and the developing worlds.

During the Summit, H.E. President William Ruto will deliver his Kenyan statement at the National capacity, and go ahead to deliver a statement for the African Group.

While in Doha, Dr. Mudavadi will use the opportunity to have some bilateral meetings with his colleagues from across the world.
