Colombia Africa Health Limited, a US-based investors’ firm has set up a Sh200 million outpatient hospital, in Ruiru, Kiambu County targeting middle class residents.

The outfit opened the newest outpatient facility, the third in Kenya, and first outside Nairobi, at the Nord Mall in Ruiru Township.

Colombia Africa is an outfit of Columbia Pacific Management, which has also invested in China, Malaysia, India, Vietnam and Indonesia before setting base in Kenya in 2016.

It has two outpatient centres in Lavington and Parklands, Nairobi and is planning to continue its expansion in and outside the city.

Speaking at the opening in Ruiru, Columbia Africa medical advisor Dr. John Tole said the new outpatient facility will offer consultation, family medicine, mother and child care, dental and optical services.

Dr. Tole said they aim to bring its globally recognized healthcare model directly to the residents of Ruiru, ensuring patients receive expert-driven and compassionate care.

The facility is designed as a one stop centre for comprehensive outpatient services, eliminating the need for multiple referrals or repeat hospital visits.

“We are committed to making high-quality healthcare both accessible and affordable, ensuring that families in this area get the best possible treatment close to home. Patients will have access to expert medical consultations across key specialties, including pediatrics, family medicine, dermatology and internal medicine,” said Dr. Tole.

“Diagnostic services such as general radiology, mammography, ultrasound, a modern laboratory, and non-invasive cardiology assessments are all available under one roof.”he said.

The facility is partnering with leading insurance providers allowing patients to receive services with minimal out of pocket costs to enhance access to health care services.

This means the hospital will be a relief to the area’s growing middle class which is constantly on the lookout for modern but affordable healthcare.

Family Physician and Clinical head Columbia Africa Dr. Linda Thorpe said by offering affordable wellness programs, and patient-friendly policies, they will encourage people to prioritize their health before issues become critical.

“This means the hospital will be a relief to the area’s growing middle class which is constantly on the lookout for modern but affordable healthcare,” Thorpe said.
