A city hospital has distanced itself from allegations that it was involved in the death of a patient who had been treated at the hospital and discharged.

Through lawyers Danstan Omari and Sophie Nekesa representing Body By Design said that the patient Lucy Wambui Nga’ng’a died at Nairobi hospital and not at their client’s facility.

They said that Lucy who is the wife of a prominent businessman James Ng’ang’a, died a few days after undergoing cosmetic surgery at the hospital but later sought more specialised treatment at Nairobi hospital.

On Thursday former Nairobi county Governor Mike Sonko was reported to have led a group of youths in storming the clinic demanding its closure.

Kenya medical practitioners and dentist council has already closed the clinic.

However the lawyers said that they will move to high court on Monday demanding the opening of the clinic.

“Our client is clean on this matter. We will move in court to challenge the closure of our client clinic,”said Omari.

He defended the facility located in Lavington,Nairobi has a good history and reputation whereby no client has never died there.

The lawyer added that that the hospital has met all requirements to operate in the country and was legally registered by the Kenya Medical practitioners and dentists board.

At the same time, he claimed that his client was going through harassment because the facility was owned by a Kenyan and not a foreigner.

He also thanked police from Muthangari police station for maintaining peace at the facility and preventing it from being lynched when Sonko stormed it accompanied by irate youths.
