Deputy Chief Justice Philomena Mwilu’s troubles seem not to end after two petitions were yesterday filed to remove her from office.
Nairobi Journal has learnt that one petition is filed by Peter Kirika and another by a Non Governmental Organization, seeking her ouster from the judiciary.
Although she is presumed innocent until proven otherwise, the two petitions claim that a tribunal ought to be formed to interrogate her integrity.
Justice Mwilu narrowly escaped prosecution after the court saved her by finding that Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) had breached her privacy.
However, the finding by the court was neither argued by the parties nor did she file a claim on it.
All her arguments were dismissed, in which in a strange twist of events, lady luck tilted the scales of justice to her.
