Deputy President Ruto visited Turkana County over the weekend and his sojourn turned out to be successful after the area governor Josephat Nanok ditched Raila’s camp from ‘Tanga-Tanga’ movement.
Sources have reported that on his tour, the DP encountered a poor man with his children some of them walking naked.
In unexpected move, Ruto was touched by the situation of one of the boys who appeared jovial with fluent Swahili and confidence despite their dilapidated condition.
“The boy is sharp and he told us he want to be farmer so that his family cannot sleep hungry in future, our boss promised to adopt him and the process is ongoing” a source told Nairobi Journal.
In 2016, DP Ruto adopted Baby Nadia who was found buried with parts of her body decomposing and was later transferred to Madre Ippolita Children’s Home for specialized treatment and adoption.
He named her after her mother. “I’ve named her Cherono after my mother and made her part of my family,” Ruto said then.
