A city grandfather lamented how modern men are yet to understand how ladies cherish the wristwatches to bouquet of sweet-smelling flowers.
The 72-year-old Ernest Gitau has advised men to buy their female lovers beautiful wristwatches before rushing for flowers and other simple gifts.
“Nowadays ladies’ watches have become quite fashionable but our men seem not to understand that. I have realised this is not happening and I urge my fellow older men to advise these young men” said Gitau during a governance forum at a city hotel.
The now retiree was the Chief Executive Secretary of KASNEB. He was also the first public secretary professional to be registered with the Institute of Certified Public Secretaries of Kenya (ICPSK) in 1989.
Gitau nicknamed “Member number one” said he was worried how young men fail to figure out the small things that could make their spouses smile and enliven them instead of sending them flowers all the time.
“Buying her flowers once in a while is okay but first get her a lovely wristwatch even if she has one. See how they look gorgeous in those watches. Nowadays it is their precious ornament” said the grandpa.
