A father who was arrested for kidnapping his stepson with intent to kill him has been set free on Sh700,000 bond by Nairobi Court.
The suspect Ondari Nyamongo was also accused of demanding Sh50,000 ransom from his wife on November 12.
He was further charged with preparing to commit a felony and intent to extort.
It is stated that the accused had on the previous evening quarreled with his wife who left the house to the market around 6am leaving Ondari and the child behind.
When the wife who is a vegetable vendor came back from the market, she found a note on a piece of paper requiring her to send 50,000 to the husband.
The complainant reported the matter to the police who traced him to Green Park where he is said to have been seen seated since morning with packed clothes and a knife inside a bag.
The terrified boy could not hold her tears when he was rescued.
Ondari was presented before Embakasi police station where he was interrogated and charges made against him.
He has since denied claims before the Makadara law courts where he was granted a bond of Sh, 700,000 pending a hearing on April 4, 2023
