Kenya’s Deputy President Dr William Ruto will be preacher when he retires from Politics.
His revelations came out today when he was speaking during Church related event dubbed ‘Refreshing The Shepherd Conference’ in Kasarani Stadium.
Dr Ruto was chairman of Christian Union at the University of Nairobi before jumping into politics in early 90’s.
He said “Once I am done doing what I am doing at the moment, I will go back to being an evangelist. The Bible teaches us that the people who know God will be strong and do great exploits,”
His wife Rachel Ruto was among hundreds of Christians and Church leaders who attended the opening of the 2nd ‘Refreshing The Shepherd Conference’.
The DP has been criticized by his political rivals for his generous contributions towards building and development of Churches across the country.
He added “We commend the Church for its far-reaching impact in promoting education and health; ministering God’s word and creating a better place for us to live in peace, unity and harmony”
Last year, President Uhuru poked fun on Ruto’s development tours during the weekends referring him as ‘Mtu wa Kutanga-tanga’ (guy who is ever roaming around)
